Mushroom Season….so exciting, downside of it means we are nearing the end of the season!!! We have had a busy season since my last blog!
Horse of the Year was great. We took 4 first timers at their respective levels. Leading the team was Gayne & Tom McClunie’s Cluny having his first 3* start, what an awesome horse for the future he will be, he put on his trying hard socks for the dressage, only making 1 mistake, show jumped well in the atmosphere – I was so proud of him. XC he was going awesome, a little strong…unfortunately I had to pull up 5 fences from home, due to injury to my arm, no fault of Clunys, he was still taking it all in his stride! Straight to the truck to bandage up my arm and I was thinking, I really hope the next two don’t pull and dam the course is left handed!!!

Next out was SE Godswalk owned byJulie Bachelor, what an awesome mare she is! First up in the dressage and doing a fantastic test, SJ clear and clear XC with 1 second over the time, giving me a lovely ride. Then Elise and Ted were 3rd out and she rode amazing and he responded awesome and they rocked their first CIC**:)) Last but not least Mr Hokey Pokey owned by Elise, who was just so cute doing his first 2*, who took it all in his stride and constantly tried to steal everyones food!!!
Last weekend we had Hunua, where Cluny finished 2nd in the CIC* 6-7yr old class, with Henton First Edition owned by the Beverley Family cruising around the 1* with great style and massive scope! Beluga owned by James Twigg WON his training class, which he so deserved as he’s constantly in the placings! Mendoza with Elise, did their ever consistent performance, such an amazing jumper and amazing brain for a TB. CHS Royal Genie is coming along amazingly, she’s a brave forward thinking mare and Tracy Sorrell (her owner) makes my job easier by her doing all the flat work on! 🙂

We have had a few change hands lately, with Gerogia Dufty getting me at a weak moment and buying Gus a beautiful chestnut Gym Bello gelding, Hannah McLean is now the proud owner of Celtic Star, Helen Scohfeild makes me jealous daily as she rides her new pony Strictly Business, Steph Frankhauser also brought Oz and I was so upset to have to put Little Lion Man on the market, but he didn’t even make the internet as Elise snapped him up off me!!! So now I watch him daily too!!! However Hit The Lign (Bart) my Beyond the Barriers horse and I are fast becoming friends and he is getting more of an understanding of me! We also have a new mare Betty Boo, who’s only a 3yr old but is a very classy young mare :))
On a different front, Bones is at 20 minutes hand walking, which is quite a task clinging onto him some days!!! Tab’s left us on Monday to go on a Contiki, it’s terribly quiet at the moment in the stable which is so weird for Helen and I!!! This weekend Dannie Lodder and I are holding a clinic at home, then it’s off to Kihikihi, with a big team of horses. For now though Roxy and I are off to pick more Mushrooms!!! :)))))
